Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked for a Sunday Roast after finding positive reviews online. However, our experience was less than impressive with what was certain to be frozen/instant mash, runny gravy, and unseasoned veg. At £17.95 for a lamb roast I would expect far better. Very disappointing.

Went to the Bridge for a family meal at Christmas. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and all the food was fabulous and great value. Some of our party were held up and the team couldn’t have been more understanding, despite them being very busy....A thoroughly enjoyable experience! Thanks so much!More

Booked a New Year’s Eve Sunday Lunch, staff were very welcoming, great home cooked food and very good value for money. Will definitely go back when we are in Whitby and a nice walk back to Whitby along the side of the railway line.

Great unspoilt proper pub with cask ales and tasty food. Had a meal and we can recommend the gammon and the scampi. Both were delicious and generous portions. Stayed to join in the pub quiz and were made to feel welcome so returned the following...evening for more drinks. Plenty of support from locals and again a warm welcome. There’s a nice riverside railway walk to Whitby from opposite the pub.More

We had Sunday lunch here - we both had the smaller portion which was plenty. The food was delicious, especially the rhubarb and apple pie I had for dessert. Lovely food, lovely staff and the place was spotless.

Not sure where to go I goggled the best Sunday lunches in Whitby, and the Bridge inn was number 1. We where not disappointed. 4 meats to choose, loads of vegetables and 2 type's of potato, lovely light Yorkshire pudding all superb. Didn't really need a dessert...the the lady said they where all homemade, I had blackforest gateau, which was to die for . Could not recommend this pub more . It's not fine dining, but that's not what you want when you're having a roast dinner. Thank you for a lovely timeMore
