Best dining experience on the West Coast. We ate at every recommended restaurant over our 2 week stay (we’re going home to a diet), and Tides was, by far, our favourite. Nothing in Barbados is cheap, but our Tides experience was a third of the...price of our Cliff experience and way way better.More

My girlfriend and I REALLY ENJOYED our experience here and the food was DELICIOUS and the atmosphere was wonderful and we got there to see a LOVELY sunset. It is expensive but the pampering we got from all the staff was special and we would...come back here again if we get back to the Island. Since her birthday was coming up, they brought us a scoop of mango sorbet with happy birthday from The Tides and a candle - was so special (and we were already full but nothing her or I could take with us for a desert because she's vegan and I'm gluten-free). We want to thank the ENTIRE staff for their kindness and service. My friends, Lois and George Swanson, recommended them to us and we were NOT disappointed.!!!!More

We had dinner at Tides and it was poor. The location is nice but the place is pretentious and the food is poor. The service was friendly.

Been about seven years since we last visited. Our overall our view is that it’s become even more pretentious. From arrival to departure we had an overwhelming feeling that we were being rushed. The food was good but not in our view befitting of the...surroundings. Have had the pleasure of eating at many fine establishments and feel that this is somewhere that believes it’s own publicity. In simple terms pleased I’ve been again but wouldn’t rush back. Other restaurants on the island are more welcoming,,with similar or better food at a better value.More

Great place with delicious food, great service and nice setting. Curry was my favorite here. They serve it in coconuts. Passion fruit margaritas are super delicious.

We usually love the ambience of THE TIDES. However it was not good on this occasion . We hated our table on the very back row not far from the pots and pans and with waiters passing continually to other tables..Our waiter was not very...friendly either .Luckily the food was sensational ..l had the calamari followed by the lobster ..However we didn’t stay for dessert or coffees due to where we were sitting.More

Came here foe lunch. We chose the two course meal. The mahi mahi cakes and calamari was wonderful. Main entree fish tacos and barracuda was delicious. The wait staff was very nice. The view of the beach was beautiful.

In the Barbados world of ever escalating prices, what a relief to find a prix fixe menu. And at dinner time! And at our new favourite in Holetown, pushing the Lone Star into second place… Less of a panic when the teenager gets adventurous with...the menu. Although I confess it was the adult that went off piste and ordered à la carte to get the mandarin soufflé with dark chocolate and caramelised mandarin ice cream! Having said that, beware the homepage and website menu quote BBD$165 but our price was BBD$195 presumably peak season price. But for a three course menu including a flight of three glasses of Italian wine per person this is truly a very good price (in Barbados) for the quality of the food, the service, the atmosphere and of course the location. If you forego cocktails in the bar you can turn up in time to watch the spectacular sunset (between 5:30 and 6:30pm in Barbados) but the sea is lit up providing a stunning backdrop even after sunset. The service is relaxed genuinely friendly rather than other places’ forced pretentious friendly. The wine flight (with our own sommelier) included a glass of Prosecco to start and then a choice of whites and reds, all balancing very well with the menu which can include strong spices. The menu, as for any prix fixe and understandably, is not the most extravagant items on the menu but the presentation of all and the taste of the mahi mahi fish cakes, flying fish tacos, crispy pork belly, sticky toffee pudding, and the bread and butter pudding with caramelised bananas and banana ice cream were all stand-out. And the mandarin soufflé was sublime, soft, delicate, puffy, melt in the mouth and a great contrast with the strong chocolate ice cream. So our average for three courses for three people (only two at prix fixe) including 6 glasses of wine and service worked out at BBD$636.67 or UK£87.62 each which is good by any standards but particularly for this beautiful place delicious food and delightful service (thank you Marc and all the staff who are all equally friendly and attentive). NB: The Cliff (apparently owned by the same company) offers a prix fixe three course dinner but only Monday-Friday, 5-6:30pm BBD$200 for three courses, no wine included.More

Great food and surroundings. Probably the best restaurant on the island. We sat inside by the tree.

A lovely location, with expensive, average food in our opinion. We had better evenings elsewhere. We wouldn’t go again.

A truly special night at the end of our holiday. Beautiful surroundings and decor with a table overlooking the beach. We were looked after very attentively by our waiter, Walter, who looked after us all night. Although you would class the menu as pricey, it...is well worth the cost for an incredibly special night out as the food is plentiful, very well presented and very tasty. Not something you will get in a run of the mill restaurant. We had starters and a main course each. JUMBO COCONUT CRUSTED SHRIMP and BARBEQUED BABY BACK RIBS followed by BEEF TENDERLOIN FROM SURREY FARM and BOMBAY INSPIRED SLOW COOKED LAMB SHANK mains. Couldn't praise the food and service more highly!More

We had the most wonderful lunch here. The staff, food and location were incredible! We had been having a rather miserable time in our hotel with the rain so decided to push the boat out and book a table-best decision we made.

We have been to Tides before for dinner but this was the first time for Sunday lunch. It was a great experience. It's a wonderful location and the food and service matched the view. We had Mahi Mahi fishcakes and monkfish scampi for starters, both...of which were excellent. Followed by RedSnapper and finished with a Mr Whippy ice cream. Great service as usual - thanks to Amri for helping to make it a very enjoyable lunch.More

We came here on the 9th October, food was amazing so we came back for our last night 17th October, food was pretty poor, we had the same mains when we told them they didn't seem to care. Apparently the same chef, very disappointing

It was the most underwhelming experience ever. Starter was unrecognisable as avocado. Looked like it had been prepared hours in advance. I’ve never had yellow avocado!
