Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As soon as we walked into the pub we were looked after and made to feel welcome. My parents are both disabled and we were given space to put the mobility aids. The staff were courteous and efficient. The food was delicious. There were plenty...of options for a pescatarian too - usually on a Sunday places only offer fish and chips as a fish option! My Dad had the sea bass which he thoroughly enjoyed. The roasts were excellent, a great choice of veg and extra gravy was brought out as soon as we requested it. It can be really hard to go out with our parents complex needs (dementia and Parkinson’s) but this is definitely somewhere we all felt included and we definitely would visit again.More

When here for lunch with hubby for a Friday treat. When our burgers came out there was mould on the buns, yes both of them. The lady behind the bar was fantastic about it, and very apologetic, but we left quickly after that. Waiting for...new owners to take over in March!!More

Stayed in the B+B for 2 nights, in the family room. The room suited our needs and was thoughtfully stocked with bottles of water, biscuits, fruit shoots for the children, and plenty of tea and coffee. Being located away over the road from the pub,...the room was quieter than most hotels I've stayed in. Although we only stayed for two nights, the room was restocked with clean towels and drinks etc. This was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast cooked by Jordan was a highlight. The menu had plenty of options and Jordan made sure the children had exactly what they wanted. Thank you!More

We stayed at the hotel for a family event, and it was lovely. Our room was spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the evening we arrived, the kitchen was closed, but breakfast was freshly cooked, and very tasty. Their advertising says best pub for smiles, and...it certainly is. Polite, friendly and cheerful staff, a credit to themselves. We would definitely stay here again.More

We stayed for just one night and it was lovely. The rooms were set away from the pub in a cottage just across the road. We were given a ground floor room which even came with its own garden . The wow factor was the...bathroom with the spacious shower. The pub had a lovely cosy feel and the food was delicious as was the breakfast. We will definitely want to return in the warmer months.More

Found the Horse and Groom on UK Pub Stopovers. The owners welcomed us in our Motorhome to stay in their carpark overnight. We did book beforehand just thought it best When we first walked into the pub that evening, we were greeted by the most...friendly staff. Open fire, locals enjoying their evening making a lovely atmosphere. We had a really beautiful meal. The landlady Carol came over to introduce herself, which we thought a nice touch from a lovely lady. We met our family next day there for Sunday lunch, again absolutely delicious food and service. Highly recommended venue and will definitely be going back.More
