Came here for Friday lunch with my colleagues. We usually go to the Anchor in Nether Broughton which is always good but thought we would try the Plough again as it was under new management and had a beer garden. It was a disaster from the start, there was no lager because something to do with the gas had gone... More

Reading through the reviews it's clear that many people have differing opinions of this place, from best food ever tasted to cold and unappealing. In a world where retail businesses are always asking for feedback, it may be timely for the management to ask a few questions of their customers? As a regular visitor and supporter of the Plough for... More

Living locally we have been going to the Plough for over 25 years for dinners and also just beers on a Sunday afternoon with the football team. We have seen management teams come and go over the years but generally it has been good service and good priced pub grub. Pie nights especially. So like Nick F we thought we... More

Stopped in for a late lunch with friends, after finding out own table and waiting we asked if we could order food to which the reply was a short "yes" then the waitress returned and politely asked "what do you want then" a bit of warmth wouldn't have gone a miss. We ordered, when you he food arrived the fish... More

We have always enjoyed an occasional trip to the Plough for pie night. A legend in our family and always a real treat for us to look forward to. It's not the same now. The choice of pie was weird. Cottage pie, fish pie, pork pie (?), or chicken and chorizo pie. The young waitress had an attitude which put... More

What a great pub and great food. Whoever is responsible for doing this pub up wants congratulating. Long gone are run down village pubs with a few locals in the corner. To survive pubs need to bring in people from outside their village and you can only do this with great food and service. Well done The Plough Inn. We... More

I went to the Plough recently with friends for lunch and we had a lovely meal. I was being good so went for smoked salmon in beetroot for starter and trout with couscous for main. Both were delicious and I would not hesitate to return.

Had an impromptu Sunday lunch and was very pleased. The last time we visited the pub was dated and dirty but we are informed there are new owners(thank god). Gone is the yokle atmosphere and a new welcoming warm environment is in place. The beer is now tasty and the food was delicious. Our lovely waiter/barman Charlie recommended a chicken... More
