Flights London to New York return

Im looking for flights for myself and aged Mum-in-law London to New York return. We would prefer extra seat room and have looked into Virgin Premium Economy as their seats are wider and longer between rows in a seperate cabin. Now I understand B.A. do a similar idea. We dont want the huge expense of Business but I dont feel Mum would cope for 7 hours cooped up in Economy.

Any feed back would be VERY welcome.

United, Virgin and BA all do premium economy.

Another option to look at is Zoom (www.flyzoom.com). The do a "premium class" which has more room and bigger seats than premium economy on the other airlines, for less money.

Zoom have been having some reliability problems on their NY route, but they are generally OK, and they will get you there in greater copfort.

BA do have a premium economy cabin called World Traveller Plus.

Virgin's product is supposed to be better

Alternatively here is some info on getting economy exit rows on Virgin which might suit.

BA don't allow you to pre-assign seats unless you buy a fully flexible ticket (read $$$) or have elite frequent flyer status.

Forgot to mention try looking at Silverjet or Eos. The latter might be more pricy but Silverjet offers a pretty decent business class product at premium economy prices.

The Times is offering 2for1 Silverjet business class returns to New York and Dubai, when you buy three copies of the paper. So two of you can fly business class for £688 each.

You need to collect three different passwords, published everyday in the Times between Sat 16 Feb and Fri 22 Feb. Once you have your three passwords, call 0844 855 2343 to book.

The offer’s only valid on “standard class” fares, which are £1300 to both London and Dubai, and the second person must pay £77 taxes. So the total fare for two people works out at £1,376.

Bookings must be made by 29 Feb, for travel between 1 July and 31 Aug 2008. You have to pay applicable taxes.

You can try www.seatguru.com for reviews of airline seating by travellers. This website looks at seating and best option seating for the different airlines and is specific to the type of plane you are travelling in.

www.airlinequality.com is similar and has customer reviews of airlines and flights and also star rankings for the airline
