Bad cancelation policy of http://www.traveljigsawgroup.com/

hello

Due to the ash cloud our flight to Spain was canceled. Not only do we now not go on holiday, the fantastic company :( of http://www.traveljigsawgroup.com/ has decided it will NOT refund us our money, because we canceled in the last 48 hours.

Honestly, I am ok to pay them some booking costs for the work they did, but not giving me all of my money back is pure theft.

I would expect them to be a bit more lenient in this exceptional situation. They are probably making so much money of this situation. They are renting out cars to people that are stuck somewhere, whilst these cars were already paid for by people like me.

They've definitely lost a customer.

Are there more people with this experience?

First you say "was cancelled" then you say " we cancelled"

Give everybody a clue, which was it?

Hi,

If I read your post correctly it is your flight that was involuntarily canceled, and as a result of the cancellation-- and the time at which it was announced- you were not able cancel your car rental in time to meet their minimum notification window...

If that's correct, then while I agree that it's a bad story for you, I don't see it as "theft" at all..

Knowing that the definition of theft is generally considered to be the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent...

*If*, and that's an if, Travel Jizsaw's T&C's does in fact stipulate a minimum cancellation cut-off time, does not provide for an 'exceptional circumstance' clause or similar *and* you failed to meet that window- for whatever reason, then they were in fact correct in their actions and adherence to contract language.

That said, of course, they could have been more flexible with you, but in the end, they aren't required to do so-- you would probably be be more accurate to say that they didn't show any flexibility with you and for that reason you don't recommend them to other and will not use them in the future.

Travel Safe,
