Paying for seat assignment

If you go ahead and pay the extra 15$ for your seat assignment when you book , are you guaranteed this seat assignment ? On Air Tran ?

If you read the fine print you will see that there are no guarantees on any airline.

Yes, I realize that, just haven't flown with them and wondered if it is reasonable to assume that in most circumstances, you would get what you had asked for. Usually fly Delta and have never had a problem with seat assignments.

I am pretty sure if you pay, you would get your seat under most normal circumstances. If not, you should be able to ask for a refund.

Hi,

I agree with Sammy... then *odds* would be slim that you'd not get the seat your requested, but as noted in #1, it does not form a legal part of the contract between you and the airline-- they still retain absolute right to move you with or without notice for a variety of reasons-- safety, security or operational.

However, in those cases where you've been moved involuntarily to another seat, most (but not all) airlines would consider a refund if the new seat wasn't of the same type as originally reserved by you.

Travel Safe,
