Scoot to Japan (from Australia)

Scoot have been promoting heavily all week the announcement of the Japan flights......and I was waiting eagerly - no longer, announcement made, special fares on offer.

Similar special pricing to Jetstar (specials).....but from Aust there is a stop in Singapore (obviously) and then a 2nd stop in Taipei, total flying time 19 hrs one direction and a whopping 26hrs on the return. Did a comparison with Air Asia via KL - only one stop, but not a lot quicker, but for July dates, over 200 cheaper with Air Asia. But it shows LCC's have limitations, though if one wanted a stop over enroute (and actually wanted to stop in their stop over cities) it might work.

Those flight times are horrendous. Jetstar's are a bit quicker with one stop not two

I wouldn't bother with these flights. Not only the flight times are bad. The departure time is downright awful, 1am for SIN-TPE. Arrive in TPE 5.30am. And 7am depart again for TPE-NRT. There is no way you can get some decent shut eye for this route. You will arrive extremely tired as the whole journey is long and you didn't get much sleep enroute. You will then have to spent a day in Tokyo to recover from your flight.
