There's no magic answer. Just start following the fares to see what the going rate is. You could wait out the next couple of months to see if any fare sales pop up. By the same token, oil prices could spike or industry trends could lead to higher fares. No one can predict which direction fares will go.
The only firm answer is to book before you want to fly.
Also avoid buying the tickets inside 21 or 14 day pre-purchase requirements.
