BA - Use of Avios Points

If I was to use Avios points (plus tax) to book a first class flight from say LHR to Boston, what level of Tier points would I receive?

Would it be the equivalent of first class or would it be at some lower level?

Many thanks in anticipation

None, you only get tier points on flights you actually pay for

I could be wrong - but I don't think you'd earn any tier points on a pure Avios booking.

Your ticket would be booked in a redemption class which doesn't earn - regardless of which cabin you're booking it in.
