First and most important, I got a phone call at 3am to notify me that my 9:30am flight , which is an hour away, would be "delayed" (more like postponed) til 2:15pm. If it leaves then, I will miss the event I am traveling for. We were supposed to arrive at 11am, and will not arrive til 4pm now. We took the whole day off work, got dog care a day early since we had to leave so early, I could go on and on, but that just isn't acceptable.
Secondly, the fares are "reasonable" but they charge for a carry-on, for checking luggage, for seat assignment, for a soft drink. The website states that it is cheaper to pre-pay these fees--they are more than doubled at the airport. It cost $40 round trip to check a bag online, and $100 round trip to check it at the airport. HOWEVER, what they fail to make clear is that once you are checked in for the flight, you can no longer add bags online. Despite repeated attempts to contact customer service to discuss this, there was no resolution.
