Angry at British Airways - online checkin is not working

Hello,

I'm looking for ways to best express my anger and frustration at British Airways. Suggestions welcome. I am scheduled to fly with them tomorrow. When trying to check in online, I was confronted with a page entitled, "Landing Page Errors", the content of which is reproduced at the end of this message.

Basically, the page indicates that online heck-in is not possible and that I should proceed to the airport. No reason or solution is given. I guess their system is down or malfunctioning. Or maybe there is a problem with me or my flight. Impossible to say. It is not clear whether this is a temporary error or if there is a problem with my particular flight. When I tried to fill out a complaint on their web site, the form simply failed to accept any data (hitting the continue button caused the form to be erased). I guess this is a web site problem more than an airline problem. I presume I am destined to fly in the back of the plane, in between two large people.

Just off the top of my head because I remember looking at pre booking seats are they something ridiculous like £20-£30 a seat, might be rambling now, all I remember is thinking "how much" I personally couldn't believe the cost we needed 4 seats, soon adds up

Depends on your perspective. It might be that BA is £270 with an outrageous £30 a head seat fee booked in advance or you can fly Acme Airways at £300 with "free" seat selection. If its that big a deal to you, you need to compare at the time of booking. Its no different to luggage included with BA but not Easyjet, or any other extra.

I agree, I just would be "happier" if there was more time to do online check in....:) I think 24hrs is not enough time.........

.24hrs before our holiday I am still clothes shopping (with the money I saved not pre booking seats...:)

Clothes shopping or sitting next to hubby, now that is a hard one to answer....

If you paid for your seats you would not have to worry so much.

Also, giving 24 hours only gives people with status more time to select their seats, which is a very good thing.

If you get the BA app you can check in using a smartphone.

Hi

I can beat that, my train to Southamton to board a cruise left at 10.10am, I had saved loads cos it was free, and I bought my cruise clothes at 8am as soon as Marks & Spencer opened. I hate clothes shopping.

Jackie, my next cruise will be Southampton, not going to fly out to a cruise again, nearly missed the "ship" shudders...wont mention why...roll eyes...

I might see you at Marks and Spencers 8am that morning, there is always something last minute I need...:)

I have experienced similar problems in the last week. I had flight to Berlin last week and was unable to check in, I had entered all requested information when booking. I tried the phone app in addition to my home computer same message technical problems go to airport. Finished up with poor seats on plane. On return 5 days later unable to check in on line same message using hotel computer ,iPad and phone. Finished up at the last row on the plane to be synincal I BA suggest that you can have a choice of seat 24 hours before the flight however if you can't check in you have no choice. What I did not try was to pay for a seat selection Hummm!

I can't see how a company this size can have its website down for such long periods with no explanation.
