Looking to book flights BHX to KUL.

The first flight has a 3hr 40min layover on the way there. On the way back there is only a 1hr 35min layover in dubai. We will reach Dubai from KUL at 13:30 and flight departing DXB to BHX is 15:05.

I am a bit concerned as last time our flight was delayed from bhx we just about made the connection.

My question is 1hr 35min sufficient? If there are long queues at security (baring in mind this will be in the easter holidays) will be our fault if we miss the connecting flight? Or will Emirates re book us on the next flight free of charge??

Why worried about security checks you don't go out of airport and if not much time you will be escorted to plane

Horrendous overbooking on Emirates. Just returned to London from Dubai leaving Sun am. Passengers were 'bump'ed and so many angry passengers in Dubai that they opened a special area of the airport to 'contain' us - Chaos as the assisants smiled but did little and mostly disappeared fom the desks. I booked in January, others in December etc. Highly stressed , got one of last seats. Found my neighbour on plane had a friend with same experience of overbooking with Emirates in London. Emirates desk check in staff seem dilatory and overwhelmed if queues are long - That then slows things further and people miss flights . Maybe then Emirates think people are not attending / checking in when they are actually still stuck in check in their own queues..? I notice someone posted that a Copthorne hotel is often used for overbooked London Emirates passengers so this is clearly not an isolated incident.

Yes food good but unimportant compared with getting where you need to get and reasonably on time.

PS Many of your comments on Emirates are from Abu Dhabi. Maybe you need more balance .. ? Emirates have won awards but are they now complacent.. ? Much travelled English Granny

Sounds not good English Granny.

Every airline does overbook a bit but there can be a couple of reasons why you have been bumped. Late arrival of other aircraft or technical problems with an aircraft being just two.

The Copthorne hotel in Dubai is one of the hotels Emirates is using for passengers with long connections. It is for sure not for overbooked flights.

Emirates has many flights from Dubai to London every day. How much time did you lose? Have you been given any reason why they did not let you board your flight?
