Gatwick Airport cancellations 24/12/13 - £100 vouchers

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, I couldn't see anything about it.

Gatwick Airport have issued a statement saying as a gesture of goodwill, they'll give all passengers affected by the delays on 24/12/13.

Good move from the airport bearing in mind there was not a lot they could do about the weather - although the cost will probably be minimal in overall terms it's probably a good PR investment.

Yes that's right, they're offering 'high street vouchers'. I'm not sure exactly what they are as yet.

Good Move by Gatwick !! Wish it was !

Our flight should have been Easyjet to Malaga at 10.00 am on 24th Dec but like many others we stood for 10 hours with no refreshments provided , Very little information and access to one set of toilets and eventually after being told we were going to fly at about 6pm it was cancelled when we got to the gate ! Couldnt get our luggage back but were told a flight would be provided Christmas Day Night in a Hotel ( struggled with Easyjet to get a refund for this Didnt like the receipt provided by Premier Inn ! )

Now Gatwick Airport said our flight wasnt cancelled it went the following day Different flight numbers ?? but in their opinion we had no problem

Anybody been successful or struggling too or anyone with advice as to whom we should complain to next

We didnt consider trying our Ins Co as we were told quite quickly this money would be paid and nothing really compensates for spending Christmas Eve as we did and wasting most of Christmas Day trying to reach our destination We do feel it is the principle involved here as they were quick to say this in view of the fact that the Government were considering an Inquiery but it all seems to have been smoke and mirrors !

Any help would be appreciated

Gatwick Airport

We have settled with Easyjet Even though their first reply was you can get money from the Airport ! We only claimed for overnight stay costs we werent looking for compensation for the delay which really obviously caused by the Airports flooding problem

No our compaint is against Gatwick Airport saying on Television in every Newspaper and on their website that all pepple whos flights were cancelled on Xmas Eve would get vouchers but they have decided that our flight was delayed not cancelled even though it had a different flight No !! om Xmas day

Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem

No, we didn't have that problem.

We received our vouchers last month.
