No one can advise when the best time to book is. See the link to the right of the screen (if you're on a PC) titled 'Buy now or later? What's with these screwy ticket prices.'

Flights at Christmas always seem to be at a premium price and the only advice I can give is book when you see a price you're happy to pay and then don't look again.

As a general rule you'll find direct non stop flights with the likes of BA from Gatwick to Orlando to be more expensive than one stop flights with US carriers via their hub airports although these are longer in terms of travel time.

Flights on Christmas Day are usually a bargain in the U.S. since few people want to travel then. I don't know about Europe.

Consider Aerlingus.com from either BHX or LHR

to Orlando MCO via Dublin

Youtube " U S Customs at dublin airport "

this means when you touch down in MCO you

go straight to the baggage area land-side

collecting bags and then on your way.

Also as of April 2014, there is no travel tax charges from Ireland.
