Tiger air Australia - missed flight question ASAP!

Hi,

We had a flight booked for this arvo but missed it by a few mins. Check in staff had left the desks and next flight not till midnight so they weren't coming back! Wondering if anyone has been able to turn up to the next flight and see if they will put you on it? Tried to call them but she couldn't help over the phone.

You spoke to someone and they could not help?

Tiger don't switch flights without a charge ... and normally if you miss it that's pretty much it, you've probably lost the fare.

Ok....how do I say this nicely.

You were late, you missed your flight, your fault. Yes, they will put you on another flight if you buy another ticket.

From the Tiger website

'You should be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Boarding closes 15 minutes prior to departure. Passengers arriving late at the boarding gate will not be accepted for travel, their bags will be offloaded and no compensation given. For travel on a later flight, you will be required to purchase a new ticket at the applicable fare'

They won't give you a free ticket for another flight if that is the question. You can of course get on another flight, but you will have to pay.

Ask nicely and maybe they'll give you a break, but assume you will have to buy a new ticket. They provided seats for you, you just weren't in them. If you'd phoned in advance saying you were late, maybe they could have resold the seats, and then maybe (maybe) been inclined to help you out, but probably not.

They will not give you a break. You missed it, you lost your dough. We were flying SGN-SIN-PER, I got a nearly burst eardrum on the first leg, so when we landed at Changi and the doctor there forbade me to fly for at least 24 hours, we tried to change the second flight. Because we had not done so more than four hours before the flight time (impossible as we were still in the air from Saigon) we lost our money. If we had been run over in the car park the same would have applied. Luckily we had insurance which paid for the new tickets as well as the hotel and other costs involved.
