Names on tickets

My grandchildren have a hyphenated surname but this appears as one name on their e-tickets. Is this going to be a problem? In their passports the names are hyphenated. We're taking them to Florida next month - how fussy is US security about this sort of thing?

Shouldn't be a problem, hyphens and spaces get lost in airline systems which were never designed to hold them.

US security won't be seeing you until you are traveling inside the US and then and only then will you encounter the TSA. I presume your grand kids live in the UK and are flying from a UK airport then It is UK security or UK agents of the airline who will check passports

As far as US immigration goes a missing hyphen should not cause an issue
