Not sure your plan to tell everyone to stop flying Delta economy will work. You don't even say what your issue with Delta is which might be helpful.

Hi,

I disagree..

I think what you see happening is a shift if you will away from the idea that the sole measurement of a passengers economic "worth" to a carrier is based exclusively on mileage flown, but now also adds in a "revenue" component to the formula.

To me, I see a very clear and reasoned logic in that move-- it's not that they don't care per se.. It is - as ugly as it may seem - - reflection of the idea that there is a linear, hierarchical order of "importance" and under the new revenue-based models, those that fly in lower fare tickets will be farther down the order, and those that fly on higher fare tickets will move up.

Flying isn't egalitarian, and I think this move more clearly delineates this notion.

I am an economy flyer. It seems logical to me that folks who pay more should get more points. The reason that the original plan to get points for the miles you fly was because in the old days longer flights always cost more anyway! Nowadays the cost structure is not necessarily based on how long the flight might be so changing the points to reflect this makes sense to me. I don't have to like it but I understand the logic behind it!
