Airtran vs JetBlue airfares

Airtran airfare for a vacation trip from San Francisco to Punta Cana is $2370 vs $2850 for JetBlue. Is the difference worth the risk?

What risk are you talking about? Risk of traveling to Mexico?

Risk of Airtran flight delay, bad services ...I have seen quite a number of bad reviews for Airtran on different websites so I am kind of nervous about booking with them.

Are those the only 2 airlines that fly to Punta Cana??

It doesn't sound like you are just buying airfare? Are you buying a whole package?

There is no comparison between Jet Blue comfort and Air Tran.

If you are comparing package deals that include hotel then I'd just buy the airfare and find a separate hotel deal.

That is a package deal but I agree with Riff buy the airline tickets separately then look at hotel deals in Punta Cana.

I would save the $480 bucks and fly with Airtran. I have flown Airtran and have never had any problems.

Rockyjoe,

Thanks, I am leaning toward Airtran too.

Riff and Oldiesguy,

I already purchased the hotel deal separately, and I am looking at airfare deals. For my travel dates, Airtran and JetBlue are the two with the best airfares.

I'd take the AirTran flight.$480 is a big difference, even if you do have an hour delay, and stern crew, although I've never experienced either of them with AirTran.

Take a look at booking the AirTran flight through www.southwest.com , that way you'll get Southwest's baggage allowance too.

OK then I agree that saving $400 is a lot .

You must be taking your whole family?

First, that's an insane amount of money for a flight from SF to the Caribbean. I hope that's for multiple people and not one person.

That said, I'd save the money and fly Air Tran if they are cheaper.
