At some point you will enter the US. At that point you will go through immigration and customs.

Is Dallas your first port of entry into the US- are you changing planes anywhere en route?

First off you should always double check anything we say. After all we're just an internet forum and "well the trip advisor forum members said I'd be fine" isn't an excuse that's going to cut it if we're wrong. That having been said:

1) What citizenships do you hold/are you going to travel on?

2) What are you doing out there? Tourist? Business - if so what activities?

3) Do you have an ESTA already? https:/…application.html

4) Will you have been in Canada or Mexico recently? If so for how long?

5) How long after your trip ends does your passport expire? Typically you need >= 6 months

"Typically you need >= 6 months" - not true for UK passport holders and citizens of most other "western" countries. It just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay.

Welcome to the TA Air Travel Forum.

Along with the answers to the questions above, how long will you be staying in the US?

For some of the answers to the questions, can you list your air travel itinerary, and the airlines, please?

In general terms (the answers to those questions will likely change this to specifics), you will need your UK Passport, and if DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) is you first US airport, your point of entry, you will need to have your UK Passport for Immigration, then likely fill out a US Customs form (usually handed out in the air), and retrieve your checked-luggage, to pass through US Customs.

If you are ONLY going to Dallas, that is it. If you are connecting, then you must re-check your luggage, and that brings up a few more questions, to help you:

Are you flying the same airline, if doing US domestic air travel?

Is that on the same ticket as UK to US?

If those questions apply, the answers will bring some additional suggestions.

Travel safely.
