BA connection at Heathrow.

I am arriving on a BA flight from Washington to Heathrow early on a Sunday morning. I am travelling up to Manchester 90 minutes later also on BA. Both flights are to and from T5. The problem is that they are booked on separate tickets.

Do you think BA at Washington would check my bags through Heathrow so I won't waste time waiting at customs and rechecking bag? I'm not sure 90 minutes is going to be enough time.

I don't know why this would be a problem since both tickets are on the same airline. Just ask at that this be done when you check your bags.

You can ask and as both flights are with BA they'll probably do it but with separate tickets I don't think they have to do it - if your bags are not checked through then your chances of catching the flight to MAN are zero if you've got to go through Immigration and the recheck process.

The MCT for a proper connection of this type with a single ticket is 60 minutes - remember that the check in and bag drop for the flight to MAN closes 45 minutes before departure if you have to go through that.
