Flights to Orlando

Hi

Looking at flying from Glasgow/Edinburgh/Manchester to Orlando in October 2014.

Prices are extremely high for BA, Virgin etc.

Can anybody give me advice on another airline? United, Thomas Cook and Aer Lingus seem to be the only ones quoting below 3k without ridiculous transfer times.

thanks

Caroline

I know over on the Florida forum that a lot of UK travelers actually fly into Sanford (SFB) vs Orlando (MCO).

You may want to check flights and prices to there as an alternative.

I think it's only Thomson and Monarch that fly into Sanford.

Is that 3k per person? That seems extremely high.

Depending on your precise dates in October 2014 there are flights from £577 per person with UA from GLA to MCO via Newark with reasonable connection times.

We have booked United premium seats for end of July cheaper say Virgin economy! So consider only booking premium on United as the pitch is poor normally, and whether you want a direct flight or not? We are going via Washington ;-) £3k for 4x flights sounds pretty good deal!

______________

The pitch on United is the same as the other carriers, 31". BY saying it's poor you're inferring it is worse than the other carriers.

<<We have booked United premium seats for end of July cheaper say Virgin economy!>>

We observe similar, and within UA. The times/dates of travel can have a significant impact on the cost - supply & demand.

Just booked UA, full RT for Sacramento, CA, including Washington, DC (IAD), from PHX in FC (domestic US), for less than Flexible E+ for just PXH-IAD-PHX last month! We looked at E+ for the same route, and it was actually a few $ more. Airline prices are always a thing of wonder.

Good luck to the OP.

We ended up getting a deal with BA Glasgow - Gatwick - Tampa return plus 14 days car hire 2.8k. Excellent deal.
