Passport details?!

I've booked a flight via Expedia, when I booked it didn't ask for any passport details. I have all conformation of booking and have logged into My Trips on Delta and the flight is confirmed with all my details except passport details. Is this normal?

Do they just take passport details upon check in? Little worried as the last flight I booked I did put passport info in.

When you check in on line 24hours before the flight they will ask you for your passport details.

You should be able to add the API information (Passport No etc) on the Delta website if you have the PNR but they'll take it at check in if you don't do it beforehand.

As an aside I assume you have your ESTA in place.

It may be different flying from LHR but here in the USA Delta does not take passport info until you check in on line.

Wouldn't an ESTA - or the visa alternative - have all the information which in Europe you'd put in the API?

Yes it would, but an ESTA isn't linked to specific flights, it's valid for 2 years, so they still want to know you're coming on flight XX123 or whatever on a particular date.

I'd be willing to bet Delta lets you enter passport info any time after booking. Don't usually fly them but that's what American and United do.

I have an ESTA already which is up to date.

Just looked again on the Delta Website and there is nothing to enter any passport details when I log into My Trips. It takes my frequent flyer info, emergency contact details, my name and hotel details.

Other than that it's just seat selection and meal/ allergy info.

Thanks, Andy, I hadn't thought of that.
