A380 Thai Airways from Heathrow coming?

Hello, I read the other day that they were to be introduced for the Heathrow to Bangkok route in Dec 2013. Manufacturing problems have pushed it back to Oct 2014. Is this true?

I'm hoping to go to Bangkok in 2015 and was considering going to Paris or Frankfurt just to go on an A380.

TG have a fleet of 6 A380s, and they are currently deployed on routes to HKG, SIN, FRA, TYO and CDG.

They don't look to have any more on order currently, so unless one of the existing routes are dropped, it seems unlikely.

If you really want to go on an A380, you could alwats go BA/SQ to HKG/SIN and then change there to TG. That way you get to go on 2 ;-)

Or on Emirates from LHR or LGW via DXB

Think I'd rather stick with Thai from LHR. I'm pretty scared of flying and think it'd be best to get the trip over in one hit. If I went to Paris or Frankfurt, it'd be over land.

Your Thai flight from LHR,funnily enough,is overland other than the English Channel and the Bay of Bengal and depending on the routing that day it could be over Frankfurt........

SS

ps forgot the Caspian sea.

Haha, thanks for that. When I say over land, I mean train or bus or something.

Overland means on the ground.

Over land means flying but avoiding big water.

Why do you want an A380 so much? For fuel economy, noise reduction etc they're great, but from a passenger comfort view, their economy sections are often rubbish compared to a 777 or similar. The windows are a pain to see through, the wall are so far away from the seats you can't lean against them, and there are general too many passengers for the crew to deliver truly great service.
