The Indian aviation market is a tough place to do business, especially for a full service carrier. Good luck to them, and I hope they succeed.

Certainly good for the customers especially the locals in opening up more routes, hopefully more direct ones.

Airlines face tough competition everywhere, so always have to find ways to expand their market but not easy for a foreign ariline. Having a local JV partner is the way to go though no guarantee in success.

Had really good experience on my flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The staff was young and very well groomed. They made the flight journey very personal and were very attentive.

The food was good and the seating was amazing. Really felt like a quality flight -

In midst of all cheap airlines this is really a good option. I would surely recommend it to all..

I flew Vistara twice in Nov 2015. I upgraded to Premium Economy using their online program with optiontown. You request and enter a credit card # and it will charge it and upgrade it closer to departure if available. It was, and it cost 700 rupee and gave me 5 extra kilos and a better seat.

On the flight they gave away a Happy Diwali packet that incl coupons, one of which was a free upgrade to Premium Economy so I used that on my next flight!

I am not an expert on Indian airlines so I cant say they are better than the others, but I can say they appeared to have a very good operation in all regards. I was very pleased with both flights. Their fares at time of booking were also as good or better than all others I checked.
