Flying to Barbados from Birmingham

Hi we are joining the OV2 in April flying form Birmingham on a Thompson plane.

What is it like? last time we fly long haul was 5 years ago have the flights improved since then?

We weren't able to book an upgrade because we are only going for a week.

Any info gratefully received.

Hello Chris

we flew from Manchester to Montego Bay in January on a Thomson flight to join the Sea Princess. Flight was very comfortable, more legroom than on BMI scheduled flights the year before. There were seat back screens with good choice of films and it was possible to upgrade if you wanted a larger selection. These are new planes that Thomson introduced for long haulflights last year and they are 10 times better than the old ones. Have a great cruise we docked alongside the OV2 at one port it looked like a nice ship.

Welshgirl, I flew with Thomson from Gatwick to the Dominican Republic in January for a cruise. The flight was alright but not great. Neither our outbound on inbound flight had individual tv screens and there was no seperate premium section on the plane, unlike on First Choice flights. Fortunately our flight wasn't full so we were all able to spread out on the plane. On our journey home the kids meal that we needed was not even put on the plane.
