Super Star Virgo ex Singapore Cabin & Weather in July

Hi

Has anyone cruised on the Virgo in July up the straights of Malacca and how was the weather and seas, calm or rough?

We are looking at 2 July 2010 for a 5 night cruise up to Phuket and back around the bottom of singapore then up to Redang Island. Wondering if the weather will be OK and seas not too rough.

Has anyone stayed in an inside cabin on Deck 6? If so was it OK for noise????

Any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi we went on the Virgo in August which is about the same weather as July and the seas are always calm in the straits of Malacca. We were in a balcony cabin and it was very nice but the inside cabins were also nice. Weather will be hot so only need summer clothing.Food was good and entertainment also good. You will enjoy it.

Thanks Janny for getting back to me.

We have booked the Virgo for 4 April, so not long now before we go.

Which cruise did you do? We are doing the 5 nights going to Penang, Phuket, Malacca & Kuala Lumpur.

Did you do any of the Virgo shore excursions in the ports that we are going to and if so would you recommend them?

This is our first cruise so getting excited.

Thanks

Hi Pam,

Yes we did the same cruise as you and did shore excursions in all the ports except K L where we went to chinatown markets but there is a shuttle bus from the ship as Kuala Lumper is about an hour from where the ship docks. The other places we did tours which were very reasonably priced compared to other cruises we have been on. You will have a ball.

Thanks Jan

I have read that you have to get a taxi from Port Klang into KL. Did the Virgo provide the shuttle bus and can you remember how much that was?

As there are 3 of us we might find a taxi is a cheaper option.

Hi Pam

The shuttle bus wasn't very expensive and worth it as you were given a pick up time and area so you were'nt worried about getting held up in traffic or missing the boat so to speak. Don't know what taxi prices are over there sorry.
