ewaterways discount cruises

http://www.ewaterways.com/?language=US

There seems to be some good specials here. Restricted dates and some of the cruises are for German speakers but prices are not in the <mortgage your home> range. Not top of the range luxury some even with bunks but very affordable.

Looking to just cruise the river in comfort don`t need all the extravagant extras and unlike ocean cruises ports are usually in a convenient location.

Anyone heard of or used them?

I have used this company and they are fantastic. You just have to sort through to find your destination. Great service and terrific prices. Very reliable!

Not only do you need to sort through to find your destination but then you would have to try to navigate all the offerings. With China for example, they have some ships that would NOT be appropriate for the US or Aussie traveler. How do you know which is which? The OP mentioned that the European cruises accommodate Germans. That means announcements and river commentary in multiple languages and the guests in a small ship environment divided by language and culture. Take a look at the Ship Owners tab and you'll see that the company is offering to showcase seemingly any small ship on their site.

So, I'm curious, when you call their reservations people, are they frank about the quality differences? They have a vested interest in funneling bookings to all the ship owners listed on their site wouldn't you think?

Don't be too smart by half with these websites. I always recommend the local travel agent as just about the only professional working solely to please all of us, the vacationers. Most agents don't charge a fee to advise and book these sorts of cruises. If you are unsure, just ask. BTW there is a listing of local travel agents who have passed a course and are river cruise specialists at uniworld.com.

Thanks for your help. Yes you do need to do your research and be cautious although the site was pretty upfront about languages used.

Travel agents in Australia only mention a very small number of available cruises and always the top priced ones. We never get the really good discounts like the two for one offers.

Our small population and huge distance don`t earn us many great prices. Specials available in the US for cruise lines such as uniworld are not available to us. We get a much more watered down version of these prices and our travel agents don`t help at all.

They opened an office in Australia...Sydney maybe? Why not contact them and see what's the latest since I can't comment on what the Aussie rates are.

Good luck.

Got in touch with ewaterways and this was the answer to my question about bookings from Australia. <We do indeed deal with Australians. Any nationality in any country, in

fact! (Please be aware if you book through our website, or offline with

me, you will be charged an international payment fee by your bank for as

well as for currency conversion.)

Please also note - our website does not have live availability. Anything

you book will be 'on request' while we check availability and book the

cabin/s for you. If you send through details of the cruise you would

like to book, with dates, cabin preference, numbers of passengers, I'll

be more than happy to help.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should this information require

clarification or raise any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon>

Am planning 10 weeks in Europe next year and a river cruise sounds a nice rest before we come home. However unless a really unmissable one turns up for next June (and includes Budapest) will probably do it more as lastminute because at the moment we`re not locked in to anything.

Viking have the 2 for 1 but even that is fairly expensive for 8 days and after 10 weeks accommodation etc. money gets a bit tight.

Would comfortably book with any of the offshore providers.

We did a river cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg, then went on to Prague with AMA Waterways in May. The weather was unusually cold and rainy, but the itinerary was very good. I especially loved Budapest (#1), where we spent three days, and also Durnstein and Bratislava. Also Prague was very beautiful.
