hi all,

we all know by now what a rip off msc cruises charge for alcohol drinks aboard(reviews etc).

we going on a med cruise from genoa in feb.my question is:when we go ashore can we bring alcohol drinks back on board?do we get searched,if so do they take it off you?we do appreciate that prices for drinks are above the norm but grudge paying well over the top prices.perhaps have to go t-total for a week!!

Yes they will confiscate any alcohol and you can get it at the end of your cruise. Have you looked into the pay before you go? Most cruise companies charge about twenty five u.s.d. per day per passenger for unlimited alcohol on board.

We are planning on taking a MSC cruise and they charge $52 per day for an all-inlcusive package, which included alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. You have to pay the $52 all 7 days of the cruise and everyone in your party has to purchase the same package...that is $400 per person for the trip. Is it worth it...I have no idea! I can't decide if we should purchase the all-inclusive package or not. Need advice!

You have to do your own maths (following prices are just rough estimates, inclusive of 15% tips).

Cocktails and mixed drinks range from 7€ to 9€, non alcoholic cocktails and soda drinks and fruit juices range from 3€ to 7€. liqueurs and wines range from 4.5€ to 6.5€ (not including premium choices), beers about 5€ (330ml bottle or 400ml draft) and coffee/water at about 2€.
