Anyone got any tips !!??
Anyone got any tips !!??
Check out this link boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php… to the NCL boards on CruiseCritic for any and all the info and tips and secrets you could want to know about the ship and line. Enjoy.
Thanks for that !
I know though as I am already chatting on the roll call.....
My post was a bit of a joke, you know how many people come on here and name a ship and then say, anyone got any tips ?
Its like walking into a library and asking the librarian if they have a book.
Erm, yes, what type of book may be ever so slightly helpful !!!!
right? Should have read your name closer - would have got the joke a bit earlier. LOL!
Seriously - it always cracks me up, the questions we get on these different boards? "Anyone ever sailed on Celebrity?" Tell me about XXX ship? What will the weather be like on my cruise 2 years from now? (personal favorite over on my island's board too - What will the weather be on X date? How the heck do I know - what will it be exactly where you are on that date?) Etc. Etc. sometimes - you just wish a poster would either think about their question first - and word it better so we can actually tell what they are wanting to know! Or do a quick search for keywords - odds are - it's been answered about 15 times!
Enjoy your upcoming cruises!
Is there anyone going on the NCL Sprit on the 8thJan 13 from the West Country .
Just returned from a 9 night cruise aroung the western med. As this was our first cruise if can be daunting finding out drinks prices onboard ship. We put 1,800 dollars in cash on our account & was wondering about buying a drinks package when we got onboard. There was an ultimate drinks package which included all drinks at bars but not for the miniar in your cabin which was priced at 49 dollars per person per night plus 15% gratuity charge. For nine nights this worked pit to just over 500 dollars each. In the end we opted for a wine package where you can buy 4,6 or 8 bottles at 22 dollars plus 15% gratuity. My wife & I like a few drinks but not an excessive amount & by the end of our cruise, our drinks bill including our 8 bottle wine package, soft drinks & beers totalled just under $800, a lot less than the ultimate drinks package. We got the balance of our cash deposit back on the last day of the cruise. Hope this helps anyone who is unfamiliar to cruising.
Hi just been quoted £729 for NCL Norwegian Spirit ,2 night Malaga med cruise on Dec 16th, 3 sharing inner cabin I am wandering how much spends we would need to budget for,my hubby likes a beer or 2! Our 1st cruise! Seems quite cheap considering Christmas.
Also I saw a Barcelona Cruise, are the logistics of booking your own flight and transfers to port feasible?IE from Liverpool only £125 for return flights, and cost of cruise only £249 tempting!!!
I believe NCL Spirit does cruise from Barcelona as well, same cruise, its just they allow embarkation at both Barcelona and Malaga.
There is no answer to how much spends you need. That depends on how many pints your husband can get through.... although I warn you, NCL booze prices are not cheap. And they dont serve pints either haha..
Seriously though, you dont technically need ANY spends... the ship is cashless. Give them a credit card at embarkation and then everything is charged to your onboard account and then at the end billed to the credit card. The only thing you need cash onboard for is the casino, US$. And you can get them charged to your onboard account from the cashiers cage if you so wish.
One thing to consider : NCL insides are small. 3 sharing isnt ideal, although if you are like us you wont even be in the cabin much except for sleeping. Also, remember NCL add a daily gratuity of $12 per person to your onboard bill, much discussion on here about that.
By the way, Spirit is a great ship, loved her. And for that price I cant believe she isnt already full. Get it booked.Edited: 11 November 2013, 12:23
NCL Spirit is doing a 9 night round trip (Barcelona, Casablanca, Funchal (Madeira), Lanzarote, Malaga, Barcelona & you can join at any port subject to availability. Steven is right in saying that a $12 per person per day gratuity is automatically added to your account at the end of your cruise but you can remove this if you want (we didn't as the staff are absolutely fantastic). There is an all inclusive drinks package which must be taken by each person occupying a cabin & this should work out to $113 per person for a 2 night cruise. In general most beer is served in bottles costing $5.25 plus 15% gratuity but you can get a bucket of 6 beers for the price of 5. Pints of lager are served in Henry's pub for $5.95 plus 15%. so you need to do the maths to see if the drinks package is cheaper or more expensive. Other drinks prices are roughly $7-$8 for a short which can be doubled up for an extra $3, Glass of wine $8-$10. Remember to add 15% gratuity to all drinks. There is also a spanish tax of 10% which will be added if you are within 8 miles of Barcelona I believe.
Thanks for the info Steven, bit scary handing over your credit card! yes probs 2 would be better, ditch the daughter! Might also be easier from Malaga,I wander which airport is nearer to the port?
Thanks great info,i think we may have to go teetotal! however you can spend a bit in the pub just the same at home:) Will have to do my maths:)
