First time cruise questions- looking at Carnival Sunshine

This will be our first trip and we are looking at the option out of New Orleans going to Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. We live in Houston but do not have any decent options out of Galveston for the times we are looking for. Can anyone suggest anything about this ship, How is the food? I have been to Cozumel but what are the stops in Honduras and Belize like? Any must do or do not? Also for the price jump I was not planning on doing a balcony but would I later regret not doing it? It is almost 50 percent more so I was thinking about just doing more on the ship or excursions. Any help would be appreciated.

The Carnival Sunshine Ship was rehabbed it is not a new ship.

Ship overall has been updated it is small it is not a NEW huge ship.

The rehab of the ship has two extra floors as in the newer ships

8 Bars

The punch liner comedy club

A piano bar

The shows are very good - Added surprise

DJ Carlos is AMAZING!

The housekeeping and dining staff are GREAT! pay the gratitude's this how they get paid

The room corridors smelled of mildew

There are leaks everywhere on the ship - No surprise to see buckets

The ship was original the Destiny built in 1999

The ventilation in the casino is very bad with the smokers.

If your looking for an inside cabin stay in room 9121 - It is a nice larger cabin

The ship is a mix of pros and cons The carnival ship has been redesigned and is a rather small ship and that's why it has fewer services and options for the cruiser. The food was also not upto the mark with often cold and odd combination of food being served but the drinks are quite good. In most areas the ship is unhygienic, but the cabins are spacious and clean and beds are comfortable . Also the wifi was too expensive. Entertainment is good with great comedy shows, outdoor movies in the evening are also very enjoyable. The room steward and servers in the formal dress are good. The gym is also good having most of the latest equipments. Overall it would get a 3.5 starts out of 5 on an average.
