Aussie dollar 1 for 1 exchange with $US for Celebrity OBC

On the main Celebrity Board on Cruise Critic a comment was made that Celebrity are offering a 1 for 1 exchange for purchase of On Board credit. With the $A tanking like it is I had to follow it up.

I spoke with Celebrity Admin and they confirmed the offer. Don't know how long it will last but is very worthwhile. $300 OBC paid in $A costs me current around $NZ320. If paid using $NZ it would cost me on exchange rate offered $380.

Good thinking posting this here - I've just followed up w X re any credit card charges - although advertised as AUD the transaction will go through their US bank which may incur fees form our CC - to avoid this, use the 28 degree cc!

Happy sailing!

My credit card charges which included an international currency charge from $A to $NZ was minimal and no greater than any other international transaction. The actual exchange rate was very good though which currently makes such a deal very good this side of the ditch.
