Will be going to Ireland in the Spring and have many choices of airlines and connections. What is best and most comfortable coach class airline?
Economy is Economy on most carriers: what would you like in terms of comfort on board? Are you thinking in terms of seating, deferential service by the cabin crew, good meals and drinks or a bit of all of the above?
When in the Spring will you travel and how long do you plan to stay? Are you going as a solo traveller or flying with friends or family members; if the latter are any children travelling? Are you looking for the lowest fare for the journey or would you like to have a bit more comfort whilst in flight?
I hope to travel end of Aprilish, 1st of May. Hopefully for 10-12 days. Seat comfort and meals are important to me. Traveling with one other. No children. Need any advice from someone who has visisted Ireland about building the itinerary. I am in 60's with not a lot of walking stamina. Can rent car and also love trains if that is a beautiful way to see parts of Ireland. Love all nature and its beauty.
I think when you fly economy the best airline is usually the one with the best connections.
I did the reverse trip once Dublin / Austin on Continental through Newark a few years back.
Or try a code share with Aerlingus from Chicago or NY
On renting a car, it is of course possible, but how comfortable would you feel driving a non automatic car, on the other side of the road and yourself on the right side of the car ??
Thanks! I am not familiar with the code share term. How is Aerlingus versus continental or delta?
Code share is when an airline can sell seats on a different airline's plane and market it under their own flight number. For example, EI flight 6046 goes from Chicago to Dallas. Even though it has an Aerlingus flight number, the plane in a United Airlines plane.
You get an extra inch width and an extra inch knee room on Continental than you do on EI. CO flies Boeing. EI flies Airbus.Edited: 10 January 2010, 15:26
