perks of economy plus apart from extra legroom

hiya, ive currently got seats booked on a 757-200 flying manchester to newark in nov with united and have rows 29 going and 26 returning. both are aisle and middle seats. we are still very much umming and aahing about whether to pay for upgrade to economy plus. we have never flown EC before and would like to know apart from the extra leg room of 5inches is there any other benefits? ie is the meal or food any better- do we get a inflight travel pack or anything? would appreciate any advice.

thanx

In short no. You are paying for extra legroom and that's it.

Nothing but extra legroom. I think it's worth it.

Service wise E+ is extra legroom only, though with a full 5" of extra legroom that is very nice indeed. On some of the UA planes E+ has only an extra 3", so I'm pleasantly surprised that they retrofitted the ex-CO 757's with that much.

Also, if you manages to snag an exit row you'd have even more legroom.

The seats are also at the front of the economy cabin, so you'll get your drinks and meals served first, and you'll be off the plane a few minutes ahead of those in regular economy too (which may save some precious time at immigration).

I think you will be pleased that you paid for E+ seats. We fly Delta and E+ gives us extra leg room, more recline, free alcohol, and of course, the benefits of sitting in the front of the plane. We have been pleased with our seats.

OP is asking about UA. UA is the only airline with E+, and E+ gives you no extra perks but more legroom. It's not the same as Economy Comfort on DL.

We did this from Newark to Glasgow and return. Picked Economy Plus, aisle and window and kept our fingers crossed! Got lucky, nobody in the middle seat (3,3) Also, had second exit row; great flight! Worth it for extra leg room. This was last week of June, first week of July this year. Economy was full.

We flew UA E+ from IAD to EZE (Buenos Aires) & back. Definitely an improvement over regular E, especially for roughly 11 hours in those seats. Yes, you only get more legroom, no extra service.
