entertain boxes under seats on United 747

Hello, I had heard the entertainment boxes were quite large on the United 747's but haven't been able to find any info on the center block of seats. Are the boxes under the D or G seats?

Thanks

carrollkvn,

You'll be delighted to learn that United doesn't have any in flight entertainment boxes on its 747s. Because ... its 747s don''t have any in seat video.!! :--)))

(in economy)

No in seat video but there are boxes under some seats. I thought it was D or E in the center block but my memory is a bit vague on that detail.

Okay, having just flown in from PEK on a United 747, I checked. There is a thin (2" wide) box fixed to the left (aisle side) of seat D in each row. It's nowhere near as bad as the IFE boxes that feed the PTVs on the 777 or 767 though. I don't think it'll be a problem.

USBT -- I was going to search for an article on a newwire via google which may have said

"Passenger detained by authorities for looking under multiple seats on a United 747" When questioned, about this suspicious behavior, the passenger said he was doing research!!!"

LOL.

Nah. It's my standard behavior. I want to know where the power outlets are. I can never remember, but for UA 747's, there are none in coach. Your laptop had better have enough battery power to make it through that 14 hour flight!

LOL. I did check while leaving the plane, not crawling along the aisle staring at people's legs. :-)

United does have wifi on the 747s, but not on seat power .... yet. That's supposed to be coming in 2014, so there may be a couple of planes with that.

way, way over-priced wifi...

I wish that United would just retire those 747's.
