One sentence reviews

I am finding there are more and more reviews that are just one sentence long. YUK. That is not a review. Can we suggest they change that. /would it be wrong to click Inappropritate review??? If I did that I would just add a cmment that one sentence is not a review. Is this a really bad idea????

I'm not a fan of that kind of review either, but the question becomes, how many sentences should be required? 3? 6? 14? I'm in absolute agreement that a one-liner is essentially useless in most instances, but in order for it to be inappropriate, we would have to define what is appropriate.

Reviews must be at least 50 characters and conform with review guidelines.

Reporting as inappropriate because of only one sentence will likely not get the review(s) removed.

That kind of review doesn't do much for me. So just as I stroll by the eggplant in the produce section, which also doesn't interest me, I scroll by that review to another that seems more promising.

Hans

The problem is that it is "characters" and not" words"

"Reviews must be at least 50 characters and conform with review guidelines"

is actually 62 characters

IMHO TA needs to increase the limit to around 500 characters MINIMUM

A one sentence review gets your review count up.

Perhaps TA could comment with their logic to the limit

I suspect that the new influx of these related to the stupid popunder asking you to rate a list of places!

They seem to have made a change today that is making it even easier to do the short reviews. The little box asking for opinion - which if you write anything in it is considered a review - now appears right there on the front page for every entry on the list.

It looks like TA wants it that way since they want to get their numbers up. So I only suspect it will get worse instead of better.

Lets us hope you are wrong as I think the majority of us agree that what TA should be all about is credible reviews by genuine reviewers and not quantity
