New “Prove you’re nor a robot” feature.

Is anyone else getting randomly asked to fill in a piece of a tiny jigsaw to prove they’re not a robot?

This has happened three times now, out of the blue, while using the website. It freezes until you’ve done the jigsaw.

Really annoying.

2. Re: New “Prove you’re nor a robot” feature.

It happened to me when I was using a different browser instead of my usual one to view TA.

Once I switched to my usual browser it stopped.

Not sure if there's a solution, it'll probably stop at some point.

You could try deleting all TA cookies.

You could try using GeneralSupport and ask staff, but I fear the reply will be generic.

Sorry it's all a bit vague, but it's hard to understand what's happening.

Thanks.

No change of browser….nothing different at all.

Oh well. As you say, it will probably go away at some stage.

Traveler from UK, I did go through that verification procedure today, when trying to send a p.m. to a TA user. I had to fill in the puzzle, and the screen told me, that it took me 5,29 seconds to do so. I felt ashamed . Two replies when filling the puzzle failed, the third one - a charm! -- let me send a message. Oh, what "fun" it is to ride, when you are not a robot.

Irina.

Now you come to mention it, I think it did happen when I was trying to send a PM.

I don’t mind moving the jigsaw piece over its negative image, but do I have to be interrupted half way through writing a pm? It removes what I have written requiring me to start again. 🥴

Hello Traveller and MuftiVancouver: as I recall, it used to be like this when answering Q&A, remember? Before you post a reply -- one of those jigsaw pieces showed up, not always though. I had exactly the same situation yesterday, as described in #7: interruption in the middle of the message, removal of what has been written, reminder how many seconds I spent moving the jigsaw piece, and then finally -- approval. Maybe, this is a test of some new procedures, that have multiple steps of verification (including the interruption stage)?

I had never seen the jigsaw before the other day.

I rarely send a p.m. so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

This is getting to be a problem. FOUR TIMES i was responding to a PM when the screen went blank and twice, this "Prove you're not a robot" appears. Each time, I was forced to start over with my comments. Once is a minor aggravation. Twice is an annoyance. Three times proves your IT support is incompetent and pushes firmware changes without proper testing and debugging. Four times really ticks me off with Trip Advisor.
