Sort Default......grrrr

Okay, so you can change the sort selection for a list of restaurants, for example, to alpha by name instead of ranking......but when you select one and then arrow back to the list, it always defaults to the listing by ranking, not to where you left it........It really slows things down when I am looking for something in particular and seems like it would be a simple enough thing to fix.......

Can you fix this, please, TA ??

Mombear,

Which browser are you using? I just tried ranking by price low to high, clicked on a couple of restaurant listings and went back to the list with my browser's back button. The ranking was still by price. I even changed to restaurants in a different city and my filter choice is still there. I'm using Safari for Mac.

I just played around with restaurant sorting (price) on Chrome, and I discovered the same thing. After a try or two, I can no longer sort by price. The drop-down sort options are there, but clicking on any sort option outside of rank does nothing. I'd never noticed this before, but I do use the app a lot.

John, FYI, you can deactivate the FB "friends first" thing by going to your profile page, clicking your display name in the upper left corner, and going to "Facebook Settings." Uncheck the box that says "show information about friends while browsing TripAdvisor."

I had changed to an alpha sort so that I could clean up some of the restaurants that were duplicated in the listings.......this is how it went:

1. Sort by alpha

2. Page down to the right one so that I could copy the link

3. back arrow to a listing that has now changed back to sort by ratings

4. Alpha sort again, repeat over and over.......

Just a very cumbersome procedure.......it shouldn't be that difficult

Very interesting! I tried it again on Safari, and it works. Tried it on Firefox for Mac, it works. BUT when I try with Chrome, it doesn't. Like Mombear says it returns to the original sorting.

It looks like TA tested the feature in a Mac and only two browsers ;-)
