New listing requests - email 'undeliverable'

I have tried two times now to get two hotels not on TA listed. After receiving a reply that 'we could not confirm this hotel meets our guidelines (despite my providing their website, email, address and telephone numbers!!) I tried the facility to list further details. In both cases the listings have bounced back saying the messages were undeliverable.

I have removed my email address from the content of the reply received.

I searched for reported issues and found threads a few years old saying the issue was fixed. Apparently not. It's bad enough having to go to these lengths to get a property listed given that they are clearly hotels that DO meet the listing criteria, without having to waste yet more time because of system errors.

TA did suffer an outage yesterday during which emails bounced among other problems, have you tried again today.

Normally if a listing request fails you need to resubmit the whole request again, sometimes on the second or third time of asking they do actually create the listing (but don't email to tell you so) so check if the listing exist

Welcome to the forum, Pick_of_Penang.

Another member reported this issue yesterday and TA Staff are investigating; please see TA_Jeanine's posts on this thread:

tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g1-i12105-k7098685-…

I'd suggest doing a "Watch this Topic" on the thread as TA_Jeanine said she'd update on it.

Regards,

Thanks for that. Oddly that topic didn't come up on the searches I did, just topics from 2009 / 10. I'll watch it and see how it goes. I'll likely not try to get the two new locations listed given that it's quite some time getting wasted (doing it what would now be a third time), until I'm sure the requests will get delivered.

6. Re: New listing requests - email 'undeliverable'

Thanks for the update Jeannie, but it isn't fixed at all!

I have just wasted yet another 30 minutes trying to submit a new listing request for the THIRD time from the owner section. Result, undeliverable. In all honesty, I give up, better things to do with my time than mess around with this. There is clearly a problem with the system / servers somewhere and sadly the only way to test if it works is to once again resubmit ALL the information.

Given the failure rate it might be an idea if TA gave users the ability to save a new listing template enabling a simple cut and past on a re-attempt because many will have better things to do than continually keep trying.

7. Re: New listing requests - email 'undeliverable'

Thanks Pick_of_Penang,

I apologize you are still getting this error message and wanted to thank you for pasting it, which helped pinpoint the listings request pages it came from (these are listing request pages that someone affiliated with a property uses to submit a listing request for their property).

I checked, and the good news is that the listing you requested has come through to us as expected. It looks like the bounce email came from an email alias that gets copied on listings requests after they are received. The listing requests are indeed coming through to us and you do not need to resubmit.

I have escalated this issue so that we address the bounce email. I agree that this makes it look like we didn't receive these requests.

Best Regards and thanks again for letting us know-

Hi Jeanine!

The very same problem was reported by a few members in Russian forum as well.

Was it resolved through the entire TA?

What should these members better do now - resubmit their requests?

Many thanks!

Hi Cora!

Can you tell these owners/managers that we have indeed received their listing requests and they can ignore the bounce email. They do not need to resubmit them.

Thanks very much!

Thank you very much, Jeanine!

P.S.Is that applicable to non-owners requests as well?
