What on Earth is This?

Yup, that splodge on the right hand side is an Ad. Totally obscures my viewing of the forum text, and clicking on the "Close X" icon did nothing.

pretty terrible.

sometimes on these adds there is a very small x hidden in the actual add and you need to click on that to remove the add.

Hi USBT,

I've moved this to the TA Support forum, because I'm hoping TA_Jeanine will see it. I think this is a buggy piece of advertising code, but I can't reproduce it by returning to that thread in the Air Travel forum. Is that the only page on which you encountered the ad, or does it come up on every page when you navigate around tripadvisor.com? If you see it on all pages, is it always the same ad?

Thanks for your help!

I got it on a California state forum thread this morning, but I didn't watch the ad that made the obscuring blob.

Just got it again. It's this California Dreamers commercial at 0:10 to 0:13 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSKlDBrdcKs

Thanks for showing this to us. We forwarded this ad to our advertising team who have paused it and are looking into it further.

We appreciate your bringing this to our attention!
