Why can't I post a second, genuine, review

Being a motorhome owner I don't often use hotels but have found it necessary to use the Travelodge in Glossop twice recently.

I posted a review after our first stay (19th/20th June) but was unable to after our second stay (1st/2nd July) because insufficient time had elapsed.

The second review was of a room in a different part of the hotel and covered different aspects/experiences. It was perfectly valid and timing had nothing to do with it.

High Minus score for TripAdvisor.

I think you'll find you answered your question "Why can't I post a second, genuine, review" in your second paragraph "because insufficient time had elapsed."

Welcome to TripAdvisor, Graham;

Just to clarify...

A review of your new experience at an accommodation may be submitted three months after the publication of your last review of that property.

https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-gb/…

There is no "one year" requirement, as suggested above.

The reason that the limitation is there is to keep a single reviewer (who may well be a frequent guest because they like the place) from distorting the reviews and the Popularity Index by submitting reviews for every single visit. I have a favorite restaurant that I sometimes visit several times a week. I go there because it reliably produces a pleasant meal. But I can only submit one review per month, not for every visit, because TA wants to have a variety of voices, not just mine.

For attractions & hotels, the rule is three months, restaurants are just one month.
