Googling the Help Centre

It is easier to google the Help Centre, especially when I'm on my iPhone. When I do, the "flag" in the top right drop down is always set for the UK.

Then, when I use the General Support link to provide the contact directions in response to a "how to" question for an OP, I am required to sign in.

Is there some reason for the UK to be the default for that Help Centre page? I would think googling would result in the actual .com version, not the .com/hc/en-gb version. The link below is what I get even when using my desktop.

Try searching for "tripadvisor help center" instead of "tripadvisor help centre".

When I use center I get https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-us

When I use centre I get https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-gb

Both are dot com sites, the first is in American English, the second is in English English. I do not see any country flags on the help center/centre pages.

I am using Firefox on a Macbook. My second link in post #3 is the same as what I see for your link in the original post.

Okay, I tried "Trip Advisor Help Center" again and chose the second google result this time from the google search results. I got the US version, first link in post 3.

I also used Centre again and again the second result was the US version.

The first google result, either spelling, says "Search the Help Centre - Trip Advisor" and leads to the UK version.

The second google result, either spelling, says "Trip Advisor" and leads to the US version.

Naturally, I opened the one that points to the Help Centre.

The "flags" are a drop down menu top right corner. The left side of the triangle drops a menu of languages, which changes the language of the Help Centre allowing someone to contact TA easily in another language.

The "Guidelines" heading becomes "Critères et consignes" in French.

The right side of the triangle goes to the TA Home Page.

I'm on Apple products, FF on my iMac and Safari on the others.

Thanks for working through this, hoogo. I don't think I would have figured it out otherwise.
