Looking for a relaxing budget trip

My sister and I want to travel mid-May to early June to relax and de-stress. Any suggestions? We are on student budgets.

What sort of budgets? Do you want to drive, fly...?

Throw some camping gear in your car and head out. There are many many free places right across the U.S. to camp.

Mid May is often a good time for budget travelers. Prices are down after Spring break and before the busy summer season.

It would be easier if you gave some idea what you are looking for, i.e. relaxing on a beach, a lively city, nature, historical sites.

A lively city would be nice.

More details would be very helpful. How long can you travel for, what is your budget, what interests do you have.

New Orleans, Austin or perhaps Florida based destinations would be worth looking into.

Lively city to "relax and de-stress"?

I think BradJill has some reasonable questions before we can give you great suggestions.

Vegas can be a good budget trip as long as you aren't gambling.

A lively city generally means you're spending quite a bit of money on things to do vs just hanging out and chilling. Having some idea of your budget would help.

I'll throw out one suggestion for New Orleans. Biscuit Palace is very affordable, the French Quarter location is great, the rooms are very unique and charming, you don't have to share a bed, you get a kitchenette (make your own beverages and snacks), you can carry your own drinks out to Bourbon St, there is a nice courtyard for chilling out.
