Affordable & Reliable travel site recommendation for europe?

Hi, my fiance and I are getting married in September of this yr (2014).

We'd like to visit Rome and then Paris.

I was thinking i'd spend 4 nights each at both cities. (2 days for traveling, so 10 days total)

I'd like your advice on which travel site I should look at.

I was thinking of purchasing through gate1travel after seeing their prices. But I googled them for reviews and read some horror stories. If you have any personal reviews for them, or can recommend another similar travel site (PLS!!) for this purchase, we'd reallly appreciate it! <3

Thank you!

For flights try skyscanner.net but IMHO always book directly with the airlines or matrix.itasoftware.com and for accommodation hotels.com or booking.com are reliable

Not sure why you need a travel site to book airline tickets??

Just compare prices and then buy your tickets.

You can price a multi city fare on most airline sites.

From NYC you have lots of choices of non stops to those cities.

See which way works out better ,into Paris -stay a few days then onto Rome and home or the other way around.

OR Into Paris (or Rome) and then home from the other city and buy a separate internal Europe Air fare on one of the European low cost airlines . You can find them on :

www.whichbudget.com

You might also consider just doing a round trip to one of these cities and stick to one country for your trip using the train(very popular in Europe) to travel to another city in the same country or to the countryside for a while.

You can figure all this out and get advice by asking questions in the forums for these cities.

Lots of people plan these easy trips themselves.

isn't it cheaper to do a pkg deal via 1 travel site than to book everything separately? The hotels in the UK seem so expensive!

You mentioned Rome and Paris and now you say "hotels in the UK are expensive".

The UK is England,Scotland, Wales etc. NOT Rome and Paris!!

There are hotels at every price level in both Rome and Paris.

I have not necessarily found it best to do a pkg. because I want the hotel that I want and the specific flight that I want and pkgs. don't always allow all choices.

Go to the Rome and Paris forums and ask about hotels in your price range.
