Wedding band recommendation - Tuscany / Umbria

I got married in Italy in summer 2011 (Magione, Umbria) and would like to pass on my recommendation for Guty & Simone.

If you like 'classic' rather than cheesy wedding music to dance to then Guty and Simone are a great choice - they have a large repertoire of English songs that are great for all the generations to dance to - they actually sound very similar to the lead singer of Dire straits!

They're great entertainers and really made my evening reception, staying much later than any English band would. They're versatile too - a friend performed a couple of songs with them.

I was very glad I picked them, Helena Wood 2011.

I would definitely second this recommendation! We hired Guty e Simone for our reception in Tuscany and they were fantastic! Everyone was dancing and we had a very wide variety of ages and music tastes. Simone is also a wonderful classical guitar player and he played some guitar accompaniment throughout our dinner as well, which was very unexpected but very welcome! They brought some lighting with them as well which really made the atmosphere at the reception that much more fun!

We also had Guty & Simone for our wedding in Tuscany in August 2012. They were superb. They played some Hendrix, The Stones, Floyd, The Doors... the list went on. They also did their version of Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven for us (we requested it in e-mails to them pre-wedding) which made the groom and best men very happy. Everyone was on the dance floor all night, even the dads. They added something really special to a perfect day.

They were very friendly and helpful to deal with via e-mail, reasonably priced and perfect for what we wanted which was lively guitar music (with a few slower requests thrown in) and some party tunes while they took a breather (they were on all night!). They provided the mic and speaker for the speeches, piped in some classic Italian music during the canapes and the meal, had a video camera set up in the corner of the dance floor and provided some lighting.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

It sounds great. How much should you cost?

I've also been meaning to write a reference for Guty and Simone since our wedding in May 2012 in Cortona, Arezzo.

After much deliberation and issues trying to find a band we thought might play the right mix of music we wanted, we settled on Guty and Simone.

They made contact with us well in advance of the wedding to ask us to put together a playlist based on their master playlist and they even learned a couple of songs that my wife and I love from scratch!

They are not the cheapest band around but they bring a top quality setup with great speakers etc and really made the night by playing the right songs at the right times and even played us a "song for the pork" as they put it when the roast pork for our main course was delivered (strangely but absolutely hilariously the song was "Spiderman").

I can't recommend these guys highly enough! If you like things a little more on old school the rock side (Queen, Clapton etc) but mixed in with some more modern pop songs and some Italian classics (Volare, That's Amore etc) then these guys are for you!

Thanks Guty and Simone!!!!

I can highly recommend Guty and Simone. They are great musicians and entertainers. I found them to be very professional, helpful and reasonably priced for the personalised service and attention to detail they provide.

We had our wedding reception just outside Rome last September. I had my reservations about an Italian bands understanding of what we wanted for the night. I had no need to worry, they have played at so many Irish weddings at this stage they knew exactly how to keep everyone on the dance floor all night. They were very responsive through email and put us right at ease from the start. You can pick exactly the songs you want to be played. The selection of songs to choose from, both in English and Italian, is huge (including the likes of Galway girl and the Pogues!) and they are very accommodating with requests. They learned a couple of new songs for us (including our first dance) and if they don’t play it live they will play it on CD during the breaks. They played for hours and the music never stopped. Everyone was up dancing and singing all night.

They let us use their PA for our speeches and to play our own music during the meal. We also used their equipment for DJ after they finished their live set so there was no need to hire anyone else.

Although they are only two people, the sound is that of a full live band. Check out the many videos on YouTube to get an idea.

Do not hesitate to hire Guty and Simone for your wedding, you won’t be disappointed!

We used the LA SEMICROMA team and they were fantastic!!! they suggested different types of bands, from folk to gipsy, jazz to international classic and we decided for their international cover band... a success. Nice and friendly cannot but recommend them!
