1 year worldwide/european travel insurance

Have always purchased 1 year worldwide or European travel insurance. If you book a holiday etc

whilst this is still running (company a) and then take out another travel insurance (company b) (when (a) has expired) and find you have to cancel or claim on insurance - who is liable and who do you contact (a) or (b)?

Thanks

Not sure if I'm right but if your annual policy is expiring before you go away and you have taken out another policy with another company, surely its your current policy holder who you would contact in the event of a claim, as long as you have told the 2nd company that you have a holiday booked. I've never had an annual policy but would suggest you look at the T&Cs very carefully and call the company to check.

I always have an annual policy. The claim would be against the company who is providing the policy in force at the time of the claim. No need to have notified them of any travel dates. Obviously if cancellation was for medical reasons, you would have needed to declare any pre existing conditions when you took the policy out.
