easter 2011

I have two weeks holiday, and plan to go away, but not sure where, or what or with who??

I've recently done one escorted tour and was really impressed with it, so willing to give that another go.

was looking at India, but worry the heat/humidity is going to be a bit too much to cope with come mid april.

anybody got ideas for either companies,or locations??

thanks

a bit of history and culture mainly... I have left my partying days behind me!!!

don't mind a day or two on beach, but would go crazy with much more than that!.

thanks

I think that Tanzania would be perfect for you.

you can visit in the beach in Zanzibar for few days, than take some tours around Stone Town... there is much to see (if you are into cooking stuff than you would love the spice market - there are also guided tours there). If you like wild animals you can visit the north of Tanzania and take 4 days safari... it is an amazing experience (if you are more into animals and in good shape you can take walking safari which is really cool - to encounter with wild animals first hand few meters away from you).

You can travel around Dar es Salaam - the city is very nice...

there are many many organized groups with OverLand trucks (half bus half truck) that brings you everyday to somewhere else...

Hey there,

I was in India this Easter and it was in the low to mid 30 degree range, which I didn't find too oppressive. The main advantage is the accommodation and therefore tours are way cheaper than from Oct - Mar, and there are a lot less people too.

India is the perfect place for history and culture, do 8 days in Rajasthan (Agra, Jaipur, Bundi, Udaipur). Then fly to Cochin via Mumbai to do the remainder of your time in Kerala, which is more laidback and has lower temperatures but greater humidity.

India is also a great place to travel alone, as long as you book your transport and accommodation first. I'd recommend my Australian site, but advertising isn't allowed!
