I had an amazing time at the 2015 European Gay Ski Week in Avoriaz, France. The event was held the last week of March 2015 and is an annual event. I have been to multiple Gay Ski Week events in North America including Whistler, Aspen, Telluride, and found the event in Avoriaz as one of the best gay ski weeks I have attended. First, the resort and skiing / snowboarding is some of the best in the world. The village is very assessable and you can walk to everything. Another interesting bit is that there are no cars allowed in Avoriaz so lots of snowcats and horse drawn sleights going around town which really adds to the ambiance. Second, the event parties and ski apres were very well organized and well attended. Really exceptional music and performances in fun themed settings. Third, the event has volunteers that lead various ski / snowboard groups each day and act as mountain guides so that you can concentrate on enjoying the mountain with an experienced and knowledgable guide. This was a great way for me to meet other people and make new friends from all parts of the world - it was truly exceptional. I have already booked European Gay Ski Week 2016 - can't wait to reconnect with an awesome group of people!
