Eurail saver pass

Hey everyone

i am a little confused.

The website says

The Eurail Saver Pass options allow 2 to 5 passengers to travel together at all times under one single pass which is about 15% cheaper than the normal Adult Pass. The prices listed are per person. Not all people listed on the Pass have to be on the train together, but only one part of the group can travel separately since there is only one Pass with all names listed.

So does this mean, that if my husband and i are always travelling together i only have to buy one pass? or 2 passes. so one pass is 698eur for the global pass for a month travel two passes would be 1396.

any help appreciated

It says 'groups of two or more - prices per person'. You get one pass for two, at a price of €1396.

Read http://www.seat61.com/Railpass.htm and think very carefully about whether you should buy point-to-point tickets from local rail operators instead.

I agree with the previous poster. Depending upon where you are going, it is quite likely that an assortment of point-to-point tickets would be cheaper. Or possibly even an assortment of single country passes. For many 'good' trains, you are going to need an additional seat reservations anyway, so you'll need to get those. (DO NOT get them thru Eurail - they really gouge you there.) So, you'll need to go to a RR station anyway.

PS. I do use passes a lot of the time, but I'm a RR freak and I make them work out.

Most specialist sites will discourage you from buying a pass
