Train Travel from Paris to Madrid

My husband and I are planning a trip to Paris, Madrid and Andalucia in November. We are starting in Paris and were hoping to take the night train to Madrid. I am well aware that is the time the night train might be discontinued, so I wanted to have some alternative plans in mind. All the reading I have done is about Paris to Barcelona train travel. Does anybody know if there are train alternatives from Paris to Madrid if the night train ends? We know we could fly, but would much prefer seeing more of the country.

There will be daytime trains. At the moment there high-speed TGVs (Trains a Grande Vitesse) from Paris to Figueres-Vilafant twice a day, these have a dedicated connection into a Spanish high-speed train to Barcelona and on to Madrid.

The plan for late October (which the train companies hope to introduce but is not confirmed yet) is that the two TGVs will be extended to Barcelona (Sants). There is a frequent and regular high speed train service between Barcelona (Sants) and Madrid. If not, there will continue to be connections at Figueres.

Because of the flux, normal booking windows may not apply, so if your date is not available for booking keep trying until it is.

Thank you, wirewiper, for responding so promptly! At least now I know there are alternatives.
